The Traveler is one of the most flexible characters in Genshin Impact, having the ability to switch elements just by going to a certain region's Statue of the Seven and resonating with it.

Unfortunately, this is also the Traveler's main weakness. Each Element has its own set of Talents and Constellations that you have to unlock and level up. Luckily, there are two ways to deal with this; give the Traveler a Physical Build, or create an Elemental DPS Build that is easy to swap.

General disclaimer, build ideas from this article are 

 guaranteed to be the best or even the smartest build for your Traveler.

The easiest part in building the Traveler is raising their character level. You can get all the parts for ascending the Traveler early on in the game by completing the Prologue and Chapter 1 Archon Quests. Leveling up your Traveler to Level 90 is the easiest step in building them.

The Slightly Harder Part - Choosing a Weapon

The Traveler uses Sword weapons and can therefore have specific options. For a 

, swords such as the Aquila Favonia and Prototype Rancour are the best choices. You can also give them any ATK% Sword.

For an Elemental DPS Build, the Skyward Blade, Favonius Sword, and Sacrificial Sword are your classic choices. You can also swap between team composition specific weapons, such as Sapwood Blade for Dendro or Electro Traveler.

The best choices for the Traveler's weapon are ones with passive skills you can use no matter which element you have for the Traveler!

The Much Harder Part - Constellations and Talents

There's no shortcut or trick to this part- without Constellations or leveled-up Talents, the Traveler's damage and overall performance will be severely crippled.

Luckily, Constellations can passively be obtained through either doing Archon Quests and leveling up Statues of the Seven in all regions.

Ideally, you would want all your Traveler's Normal Attack, Elemental Skill, and Elemental Burst Talents at levels 9/9/9 respectively, for all the Elements. You can take your time achieving this by focusing on one set of Element type talents first, instead of trying to level them all at the same time.

Artifact farming, the true endgame content in Genshin Impact (aside from the other stuff). For the Traveler's Physical Build, you can give the Traveler two options. 

Giving the Traveler a 4pc Pale Flame set can give them a lot of Physical DMG and ATK boost. You would want their artifacts' stats to be ATK%, CRIT DMG, and CRIT Rate, with a Physical DMG Cup.

A 2pc Pale Flame artifact set paired with artifacts that have a 2pc set ATK% buff like Shimenawa's Reminiscence, Vermillion Hereafter, or Gladiator's Finale, however, can be rather flexible.

Bear with me for a moment, and assume you will get the perfect artifacts. Two artifacts between the Flower, the Feather, the Crown, and the Sands make up the 2pc set ATK% buff artifacts mentioned above. The artifact Goblet's main stat is whatever element you need the Traveler to be.

The remaining artifacts can be swapped between any of the artifacts with Element-specific 2pc set buffs; Blizzard Strayer, Archaic Petra, Deepwood Memories, Crimson Witch of Flames, Heart of Depth, Thundering Fury, and Viridescent Venerer.

An easier build would be to increase the Traveler's Energy Recharge stat and give them a 4pc set Emblem of Severed Fate. However, each Traveler element's damage will be reduced unless your artifact Goblet is your off-piece, and you have a Goblet for every element that you can use to switch between.
