There are three types of heroes in Overwatch 2 (OW2): Tank heroes, Damage heroes, and Support Heroes.

Tank heroes' role can appear straightforward at first: tank damage for the team. However, tanks also have the power to 

big health pool, crowd control abilities, and sheer size

, they are meant to be the ones going in first and attract aggro from the enemy team.

Each tank has their own way of doing this. For example, Wrecking Ball, Winston, and 

 have wildly different ways of tanking from Reinhardt, Zarya, and Roadhog. But it all boils down to 

initiating, disrupting, and attracting aggro

 from their team. Whether they get eliminations from sniping from afar, going into the enemy's backline, or standing right behind their tanks, the most important thing for them to do is to secure kills. Pretty simple!

Support heroes' role is, well, to support their teammates! They can do this in two ways: 

. All supports have some form of healing, whether it's strong like Moira's or weak like Zenyatta's (outside of his ultimate).

You can determine whether a support is the main support or the off support by how much healing they do.
