Field Medic will be the most crucial perk to help you survive through the early game. You and your teammates will have trouble surviving waves of bugs, especially on harder difficulties, due to your low stats. This means you'll be doing a lot of reviving as you play through missions.

You'll need to speed that process up as much as possible since you can't waste any time in the middle of combat. The Instant Revive ability will also help if you need to retreat from an area immediately while your teammates are downed.
