The final superboss of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is the powerful level 120 Seraphic Ceratinia. This boss guide should help you beat it at Normal Difficulty or higher.

Given how difficult this fight is, you will need your characters and heroes 

 if you plan to defeat the Seraphic Ceratinia on Normal difficulty (or higher). The easiest way to power up is to complete the main story once and defeat Z inside Origin.

Once you've cleared the game, you will have the benefit of the following advantages:

Before you can even begin to tackle any of the superbosses (excluding the level 95 

) you will need to raise Noah and your entire party to level 99.

While it sounds tedious, this portion of the preparation phase is the easiest to achieve if you know where to level up your characters. Follow the steps below to quickly powerlevel from 70 to 99.

Remember, this is all about speed. If you have qualms with using 

 while leveling, you can instead progress the Main Story naturally, then explore the entirety of all the regions to reach a comfortable level 85+ once you're done.

Raise the Rank of the Following Classes for Noah

Raise the Following Classes to Rank 20 for Each Character

Max Out the Soul Trees of All Party Members

To make this fight easier, prepare to grind out a lot of Soul Points (SP). If you have at least your Ouroboros Talent Arts and Primary Combat Arts upgraded, you should be good to tackle and even challenge the Seraphic Ceratinia on Normal or higher difficulties.

 The easiest way to get a ton of SP is to 

Defeat all the Unique Monsters of Aionios

. While it seems a bit daunting at first, this will be a great way to farm SP while also farming CP for classes you have not yet mastered.

Some gems will be essential if you plan to survive your encounter with the Seraphic Ceratinia. If you can, raise the ones listed below to at least Level 7 for maximum value:

Defeat the Superbosses and Discuss Aionios' Strongest

, you will first need to defeat all the superbosses in XC3. Doing so will prepare you for the challenge that is the "Strongest Superboss".

If you haven't unlocked this area yet, fast travel over to the 

Once up the ramp, follow the Shattered Pathway and descend into the Cavity where the Seraphic Ceratinia will be waiting for you.

Open the fight by waiting for your Defenders to draw aggro. Since only the party leader can attack first, you can have Noah attack once and pull back in order to wait for your defenders to draw aggro.

Immediately Pop Unlimited Sword at the Start of the Fight

When the Seraphic Ceratinia starts focusing on your tanks, pop 

 talent art combo. Once it's charged and ready, unleash the combo to deal a massive amount of damage (provided you proc a crit on Smash).

: Talent Art buildup for Tachyon Slash will only work if you are attacking from the front. While this leaves you vulnerable to the attacks of Seraphic Ceratinia, Noah will probably be able to shrug it off since your party should have 4 Healers.

: If you find yourself separated from your party, or if you find that your party is splitting up into groups (going to the side or back of the boss), use the "Follow Leader" command to gather everyone back to the front of the boss.

Fuse Unlimited Sword Arts to Raise Interlink to 3

During the duration of Unlimited Sword, make sure to always use fused Arts (unless Tachyon Slash goes off cooldown without Harmonic Wave). To maximize the duration of the Art, use either a fused Tachyon Slash or a fused Gravity Blow + Power Raiser to slowly raise your Interlink level 3.

: Don't bother using the debuff Arts of Unlimited Sword. Not only are unique monsters like this superboss highly resistant to debuffs, the move itself is very slow to cast (long animation that wastes the duration of Unlimited Sword).

This is best done before using your first Chain Attack. Once you see that the Chain Attack gauge is charged, hold down 

Use First Chain Attack to Proc Enraged Status

Unlike normal bosses, Seraphic Ceratinia will imitate Kilocorn Grandeps in that it will reach an enraged status much quicker if you attack it using 

. If you notice, the flame icon on its HP bar will move to the right during a Chain Attack, meaning it can pop enrage sooner in this mode.

For any other fight, this is a bad thing. However, for our purposes, we want to proc this 

 in order to take advantage the interlink levels we've slowly been building up.

Break Seraphic Ceratinia Using Your Ouroboros Form

the enraged Seraphic Ceratinia using either of the following Ouroboros Arts:

As you're reading this, you may be telling yourself "

you don't need Interlink level 3 to inflict break, what's this guide on about?

". Well, to answer your question, we're only getting Interlink level 3 so that:

. In situations like those, dealing damage is the next best thing you can do before Interlink goes on cooldown.

This step is where a little (or a lot) of RNG comes into play. If you've played XC3 up to this point, you'll know that the AI is absolutely useless even when you have the Burst Combo selected in your command menu. After inflicting 

, pray that Lanz, Eunie, Taion's Ouroboros Form, or even Lanz's Ouroboros form somehow come together and inflict the needed 

Once you see the Daze status effect symbol next to the Seraphic Ceratinia's name, immediately switch to Mio and use the Troubadour's 

 and purge the enraged status of the superboss. I cannot stress it enough that this step relies on a ton of luck. If it fails, you can simply re-attempt the purge once you have your Ouroboros form ready (no need for max interlink this time since your only goal is to inflict Break as much as possible).

Use Chain Attacks and Ouroboros Forms to Defeat the Boss

After enrage is purged, the fight should go much more smoothly. Simply use Chain Attacks and your Ouroboros Form to whittle it down until its HP drops to 0.

 When it is about to drop to 1/4th of its HP, 

. Do not waste it until you pass the 1/4th HP mark of the superboss.

Purge or Chain Attack Through the 2nd Enrage Status

At 1/4th HP, Seraphic Ceratinia will gain 

. While it is certainly unfair (given how difficult it is to pull off a combo in this game), you have 2 options when this happens:

Naturally, it is easier to do the first option. However, if you feel like luck is on your side, transform again and use the Break Ouroboros Arts to inflict the Break Status Effect.

Use Nia's Chain Order to Resurrect Fainted Party Members

Given how much this guide relies on having your group clumped together, it will be a disaster if a lot of your party members faint due to Seraphic Ceratinia's many high-damage Arts. If ever this happens (which it shouldn't if your Healers are built correctly), immediately use Chain Attack and have select Nia's Chain Order to revive your fallen teammates.

Congratulations. You (or rather, all 6 of you) are now Aionios' Strongest. Collect the rewards of the boss battle from the Seraphic Ceratinia's corpse and pat yourself on the back for a job well done.

Now, you can re-challenge Seraphic Ceratinia again by approaching its Named Grave and picking 

. Remember, the first battle will be against a level 120 Seraphic Ceratinia. However, each succeeding star added to the challenge will raise the superboss' level by +5.
