Eikthyr is the first boss encountered in Valheim, but is by no means easy. Make sure that you're facing him fully rested and have had 3 meals for a max health bar.

Eikthyr needs an offering before being summoned. You will need to obtain 2 deer trophies from hunting deer and then use them at his altar. The moment they are offered, Eikthyr will start to spawn.

The easiest way to deal with Eikthyr is to craft a bow and a lot of arrows. Run around and kite Eikthyr, rolling away from his attacks when he winds up.

His attacks are all very telegraphed, which can be dealt with by timing the dodge button. If you opt for a melee strategy, remember to dodge when he winds up an attack, and then hack away.

Don't be greedy and take your time in scoring a hit or two before running away. When he goes down, he'll reward you with his antler that can be used to craft your first pickaxe, which unlocks mining for your character.

Remember that you can keep summoning him as long as you have trophies, so if you're a large group, bring enough for everyone if they want multiple antlers.
